This Privacy Policy describes how GetTogether ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by Marcus Cid, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Username and nickname
- Profile picture (optional, if you choose to upload one)
- Authentication data from Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, if you choose those methods (we receive only your name and email address from these providers; we do not receive your password)
1.2 Content You Provide
- Group names and group profile images you create
- Availability dates you mark in shared group calendars
- Activity/event details you create within groups
- Your responses (accept/decline) to group activities
- Friend connections and blocked user lists you manage
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Device push notification token (used to deliver notifications about group activity, invitations, and reminders)
- Device identifier (used to manage notification delivery across your devices)
- Timestamps of account creation and group activity
1.4 Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions, only used for the stated purpose:
- Camera: to take a profile picture
- Photo Library: to select a profile picture from your device
We do not access your camera or photo library except when you actively choose to update your profile picture.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enable you to create and join groups with other users
- Display your availability and activity responses to members of your shared groups
- Send push notifications about group invitations, activities, and updates
- Enable a friends list and a blocking feature to manage who you interact with
- Maintain and improve the App's functionality and security
We do not sell your data and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. How Information Is Shared
3.1 With Other Users
Because GetTogether is a group-coordination app, certain information is visible to members of groups you join:
- Your username, nickname, and profile picture
- Your marked availability dates within a shared group
- Your acceptance/decline status on group activities
This information is not visible to the general public — only to members of groups you belong to.
3.2 With Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations:

3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile settings). When you delete your account:
- Your profile data is permanently removed from our database
- Your profile image is removed from storage
- You are removed from all groups you belong to
- Groups that have no remaining members are deleted
- Your authentication record is permanently deleted

5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (via your Profile settings)
- Request deletion of your data (via in-app account deletion or by contacting us)
- Withdraw consent for optional features (e.g., disabling push notifications in Settings)
- Opt out of specific notification types individually within the App
As GetTogether is operated from Norway, you are entitled to rights under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. 6. Children's Privacy
GetTogether is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including Firebase's built-in authentication and database security rules, to protect your information. Data is transmitted using encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, via Google Firebase infrastructure. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
9. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Norway, without prejudice to any mandatory data protection rights you have under the GDPR or other applicable local law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
